UTILITY GLB INSTALLATION

Utility Grade Level Boxes come in a variety of depths and sizes and are installed to ensure a platform suitable for fiber or copper low voltage applications. These platforms provide a safe covering and protection area for all inner wires or pipes and provide a suitable and safe working area for telecommunication providers. For a GLB to meet all the above requirements, it is important they are installed on a strong base, securely, with room to work within, and to grade. Wally’s Sealing & Paving Inc. has a team able to install GLB’s in a way that will meet all the above requirements.

OUR PROCESS

If it is a new GLB needing to be installed or if it is re-setting a sunken one, our process remains the same. We will come to site with all appropriate equipment to safely maneuver and place the GLB. Once the hole and location are open and all required wires and pipes are bunched, we will carefully lay and prep the base with 3/4" clear stone. After the appropriate level and elevation is reached, we will then gently set the GLB in the hole. When we are satisfied with the placement of the GLB and inner wires and pipes, we will then pour more 3/4” clear stone in and around the GLB until it is fully secure. We will secure the GLB so that telecommunication workers still have enough space to work and move within. We will fill and tamp the remaining space around the GLB with high performance bedding. We will then place 2-3” of topsoil and seed around the surface edge of the GLB, making for a satisfying to grade finish.
