CRACK FILLING
Choosing to crack fill your parking lot or driveway is an important step in helping extend the life of your asphalt by 150%. Cracks in pavement are gateways for water, which with time allow for deterioration and erosion on a once airtight asphalt surface. To avoid large sections of spider-cracked and broken asphalt, it is important to adopt a schedule of filling new cracks every 2-3 years. Our team at Wally’s Sealing & Paving Inc. will help you do so. We have perfected a procedure of crack filling that will guarantee the longevity of your pavement asset.
OUR PROCESS
We will route all major cracks 3/4” deep and wide. After the cracks are routed, we will then clean them with our power brooms and blowers. Routing and cleaning the new cracks will create space and a proper bed for the hot pour rubber to properly bond and cure to the walls of the crack. Once cleaned to the highest degree, we will heat and apply the hot pour rubber at 350 degrees F. Our experienced team with our highly graded dependable equipment will then fill the cracks so that the crack sealer bonds to the walls of the crack and over bands on the top to create an airtight seal. Then for all other major cracks that have already been filled in the past but are showing wear and crevices, we will notably touchup by doing another pass over with hot pour rubber
If traffic is an unavoidable issue, our team will properly direct traffic around all work that is in progress. At all times, one of our team members will be spraying soapy water or spreading cement dust on the newly filled cracks. This will ensure the cracks can properly settle even if cars drive over them.
